报纸教学计划 Newspaper-in-Education
 
1999年2月,周报全面推出“报纸教学计划”(Newspaper-in-Education),请专家针对周报内容出题,然后传真至全国中学华文老师。题目性质包括热门话题讨论、创意思考、国民教育、情绪智商、IT连线等,方便老师从中选择。
 
NiE计划协助教师以周报为课堂辅助教材,考查学生的华文学习。因为题目是开放式的,教师可以依据学生的程度选择不同的题目给学生,或笔答或讨论。现在NiE进入互联网,形成“《星期5周报》网上华文课室”(FW eClassroom)。教师、家长和读者等都可以直接从网上下载。
